Language for Specific Purposes (ESP)
Specialized Language Component within Foreign Language Courses
The completion of a specialized language component (ESP) tailored to the specific field of study is a mandatory element of the curriculum within the foreign language courses for students of First-cycle (undergraduate) and long-cycle Master's programmes.
On the University's e-learning platform, Enauka (www.enauka.ujd.edu.pl), under the "Foreign Language Centre" (Studium Nauki Języków Obcych) tab, there is a dedicated category named Specialized English (ESP), which is divided into 4 parts. Each part corresponds to one semester of the language course: Part I is completed during the first semester of the English course, Part II in the second, Part III in the third, and Part IV in the fourth semester, respectively.
Each part comprises courses assigned to the six faculties of the University, containing didactic materials focused on specialized vocabulary relevant to the programmes offered by each respective faculty. Students are required to complete assignments only for their own specific field of study.
The curriculum to be completed for each field of study per semester consistently includes Module 1, Module 2, and a final revision test designed to verify the acquired learning outcomes.
Students are required to report the results of their completed specialized coursework for their respective field of study to their course instructor in each of the four semesters of the language course.

The completion of this mandatory curricular component for students with disabilities and/or special needs within First-cycle and long-cycle Master's programmes will soon be available through specially adapted courses.
